Dipo Akin-Deko is the founder and managing attorney of Akin-Deko Professional Services Firm. Akin-Deko Professionals is a certified minority owned law firm located in the DC metropolitan area.
The firms practice areas include business and commercial law, labor and employment, alternative dispute resolution, public/private sector contracts and litigation defense.
The firms practices in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, New York and Texas.
In his practice, Mr. Akin-Deko excels at meeting the needs of his clients. Mr. Akin-Deko has represented government contractors, foreign and international government entities, start-up businesses, small and large businesses, not-for-profits and law firms in areas including business law, business consultation, corporate compliance, creditors’ rights, litigation defense and employment law.
Mr. Akin-Deko graduated Magna Cum Laude from Thurgood Marshall School of Law and holds a Master of Law in Litigation and Dispute Resolution from George Washington University Law School.
He is a member of the state bar of Texas, Maryland, the District of Columbia, as well as the Federal District Courts of the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Colorado.
Mr. Akin-Deko accomplishments include:
·Committee member on the Commission of Employment for the City of Alexandria;
·Chairperson of the Alumni Board for Thurgood Marshall School of Law
·2014/2015 vice chair for the American Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Divisions Business law section; and
·Vice chair for the 2011/2012 American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Practice Management; and
Mr. Akin-Deko has been a guest lecturer as well as presenter on the topic of "How to run a successful solo practice." In 2012, Mr. Akin-Deko was recognized by the Association of Nepalis in the Americas (ANA), an association of over 4000 Nepalis throughout North America, for his representation of it and of the Nepalis Educational Cultural Centre (NECC).
