Attorney Biography
Bill graduated from the University of Houston in 1980 with a B.B.A.; M.B.A. 1981; and J.D. 1986. He is listed in Who’s Who Among American Law Students, Young Community Leaders in America, Who’s Who in International Business, and Who’s Who in American Law. Bill Underwood is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law, Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Board Certified Civil Trial Advocate and Civil Pre-Trial Advocate, National Board of Trial Advocacy. He was selected to the 2011 and 2012 edition of Texas Super Lawyers.Bill is AV (highest) rated by Martindale Hubbell.
He is a member of the American and Texas Bar Associations. Bill’s practice includes complex litigation issues of all types, including administrative issues before state agencies, aviation litigation; construction litigation; insurance coverage and indemnity; commercial litigation; insurance agency issues; maritime litigation; Jones Act; general corporate; international law and personal injury.
He is also heavily involved in numerous business transactions for many clients. Prior to his legal practice, Bill progressed in his career in the insurance industry from an adjuster to Executive Vice President of a regional insurance broker. During his legal career he has participated in more than 100 jury trials.
