Attorney Biography
Chidi Anunobi is a board-certified, trial-tested attorney whose practice focuses on complex family law, business litigation, and medical negligence matters. He is certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, a distinction held by only a small percentage of Texas attorneys and one that reflects demonstrated expertise, experience, and peer recognition in his field.
Mr. Anunobi’s legal practice is shaped by an uncommon multidisciplinary background. In addition to his Juris Doctor, he holds a Master’s degree in Information Systems from Bowie State University, an M.B.A. from Carnegie Mellon University, and completed executive leadership training at Yale University. This academic foundation informs a practice that is analytical, systems-oriented, and deeply attuned to the financial and structural realities underlying complex legal disputes.
Before entering the legal profession, Mr. Anunobi spent more than a decade as a management and technology consultant with KPMG LLP, advising Fortune 500 companies on large-scale business and technology transformation initiatives. That experience continues to influence his approach to litigation—particularly in cases involving businesses, professional practices, executive compensation, valuation disputes, and financially sophisticated parties.
Mr. Anunobi has been recognized by Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers for multiple consecutive years, reflecting consistent peer recognition for excellence in practice. He has litigated high-stakes cases against well-credentialed opposing counsel and is known for his preparation, strategic judgment, and trial readiness.
In his family law practice, Mr. Anunobi represents clients in highly contested divorce and custody matters involving complex property division, business ownership disputes, executive and professional compensation, international assets, and cross-border issues. He routinely handles cases where traditional family-law approaches are insufficient due to the financial or legal complexity involved. His custody practice includes cases involving parental alienation, abuse allegations, and international child-custody disputes under the Hague Convention. He regularly serves as Amicus Attorney, advocating for the best interests of children, and is frequently selected by fellow attorneys to mediate contested family law matters.
In his business litigation practice, Mr. Anunobi represents individuals and closely held businesses in complex commercial disputes, including breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, shareholder and partnership disputes, and business torts. His background allows him to analyze disputes not only through a legal lens, but also through the practical realities of business operations and financial risk.
Mr. Anunobi also maintains a medical negligence practice, where he has obtained significant results in cases involving birth injuries, surgical and procedural negligence, stroke and delayed-diagnosis claims, gynecological injuries, and wrongful-death actions arising from medical error. These cases demand rigorous factual development, mastery of medical records, and close coordination with expert witnesses—an approach that aligns with his methodical litigation style.
Selective by design, Mr. Anunobi accepts only cases he believes in and approaches each matter with total immersion. He views the attorney-client relationship as a collaborative one and is intentional about keeping clients informed, involved, and grounded in both legal reality and strategic options. His advocacy is disciplined, candid, and outcome-focused.
Mr. Anunobi is active in numerous professional and community organizations, including the Fort Bend County Bar Association--where he serves on the board of directors, Houston Bar Association, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists, Gulf Coast Family Law Specialists, and Family Bar of Fort Bend. Outside the practice of law, he enjoys traveling, cycling, tennis, golf, and spending time with his wife and family.
