Attorney Biography
I have been practicing criminal law in Harris and surrounding counties for over 30 years with my practice being devoted exclusively to criminal defense.
I began my career as a prosecutor and investigator with the Harris County District Attorneys office and have defended individuals accused of crimes since 1991. In addition to being an experienced attorney, I am a licensed private investigator. I will use my vast investigative experience to assist me in discovering all of the necessary facts of any given case.
While the legal issues in any particular case are usually clear, the facts and evidence in a case are the keys to a successful outcome. My strategy is to quickly interview witnesses before their stories change, obtain time-sensitive evidence such as surveillance tapes, and subpoena any necessary records to prepare a defense.
My philosophy and personal approach to practicing law is honesty and diligence. I take pride in guiding my clients through this complicated legal process the right way and offering them my undivided attention. I have worked years to build a reputation that is respected in the courtroom making me a trusted advocate among my colleagues.
I attended Sam Houston State University where I earned a BS degree in Law Enforcement and Police Science in 1983. After my time at SHSU, I received my Juris Doctor degree from South Texas College of Law in 1986.
I am the proud member of multiple esteemed legal associations that include the Harris County Criminal Lawyer’s Association (HCCLA), Texas Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Association (TCDLA), the Houston Bar Association (HB) and the Texas Association of Licensed Investigators (TALI).
