Jeremy-Evan Alva

Even while in college, Jeremy never took the easy way out. He designed his own major and triple-majored in Psychology, Sociology, and Political Science, which enabled him to study race relations, a subject he's deeply interested in. While studying, he also served as a Teacher's Assistant for two years and learned from both his fellow students and teachers from a range of backgrounds. After graduating with his undergrad degree, he attended the James Beasley School of Law at Temple University and graduated with his Juris Doctor.

To begin his career as a licensed attorney, he served at the Defender Association of Philadelphia, where he gained courtroom experience defending clients who were unable to afford a private attorney. He currently works at Alva & Shuttleworth, LLC, where he aggressively defends the rights of his clients. He is proud to take on the challenging cases, including federal matters and felony offenses, and has tried hundreds of cases regarding a range of criminal offenses. In 2011 he was recognized for the third time as a "Pennsylvania Rising Star" by Super Lawyers Magazine.
