Northern Indiana criminal defense attorney Paul Stanko has practiced criminal law in Indiana since 1979. He served as a deputy prosecutor in Lake and Starke counties from 1979-81 and as a presiding judge of the Superior Court of Lake County from 1985-92. Paul also taught university level law courses at Indiana University from 1997-2007.
Paul's practice is devoted to the defense of persons accused of crimes throughout northern Indiana from offices in South Bend and Crown Point. Most of his criminal cases are drug or alcohol-related. He is widely acknowledged as one of Indiana's most experienced criminal lawyers and his expertise has been recognized through numerous awards.
Paul remains active as an officer in the American Judges Association, serving in his third consecutive term on the Board of Governors, as chair of the Senior/Retired Judges Committee, as a member of other committees, and as Historian.
