J. Lane Bearden (fifth generation Gordon County resident). Son of Lt. Col Jimmy L. Bearden (1931-1993) and Charleen Whitehead Bearden (1933-2013). B - 1958. Married to Carol Jones Bearden, children: Joseph, Lloyd, Chaney.

Education: BA - University of Redlands (1981) (Debate team, Student Judicial Council); Juris Doctor - Univ of Alabama School of Law (1985)(Dean's Outstanding Senior Award, Bench & Bar, Jessup Moot Court team, Trial Ad team, Pres Envir law, Pres Internatl law, represent to ABA, ACLU).

Law: 1985 Georgia State Bar, N. District of Georgia, Court of Appeals and Supreme Court of Georgia. 1985-1991 Bailey & Bearden, Calhoun (general practice, criminal defense and personal injury, Regional VP, GTLA, GACDL); 1991 - present Bearden Law Firm, sole practitioner, with sister, D.
