Attorney Biography
Eric J. Conn is a founding partner of Conn Maciel Carey and leads the firm’s national OSHA • Workplace Safety Practice Group, focusing solely on occupational safety and health law. Prior to establishing his own practice, he spent over a decade working with the first General Counsel of the OSH Review Commission.
Eric advises employers across all industries, handling inspections, investigations, and enforcement actions involving OSHA, EPA, MSHA, and other regulatory bodies. His practice includes managing OSHA-related litigation, representing employers in criminal investigations, and developing workplace safety programs. He also provides compliance training and counseling for employers.
Eric’s work has earned national recognition, with Conn Maciel Carey named one of the few "Band 1" OSHA law firms by Chambers USA, where he was also ranked among the top OSHA attorneys. He has been consistently named a "Super Lawyer" and included in the Washington Post's Top-Rated Lawyers list.
A prolific writer and speaker, Eric leads the award-winning OSHA Defense Report blog and regularly speaks at industry conferences. He also curates the OSHA Defense Report LinkedIn Group and is active on Twitter as @OSHA_Guy.
Eric lives in the Washington, DC area with his wife and two children.
