Attorney Biography
Kaitlin is an Associate Attorney at MayesTelles PLLC, specializing in post-conviction and appellate matters. She was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. Kaitlin is a graduate of the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law and holds a Master of Counseling degree from Arizona State University. She left her position as a clinical therapist to become an attorney after a close family member was unjustly sentenced to life in prison without the chance of parole. Her involvement in his case drives her passion to help others who are enmeshed in the legal system.
During her time in law school, Kaitlin dedicated more than 350 hours working on the post-conviction cases of men and women who experienced a manifest injustice or who claimed innocence from the crimes they were convicted of. Kaitlin is an advocate for criminal justice reform and is active in the community.
Before earning her law degree, Kaitlin practiced as a licensed therapist. She worked at a court-mandated counseling agency running group and individual therapy sessions for those convicted of domestic violence and drug-related offenses, later becoming the Clinical Supervisor of an offender treatment program and a Program Manager for a government contract.
Kaitlin has experience working on an array of criminal cases, and she has extensive experience representing clients in post-conviction cases and parole hearings. Kaitlin is also a zealous advocate for clients in family court, and has worked on cases involving custody disputes, divorce, and child support.
