Attorney Biography
Kate was drawn to the practice of law by her love for advocacy and argument. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of California, Santa Barbara where she double-majored in Psychology and Law & Society, and was a founding member of the UCSB chapter of Phi Alpha Delta, a co-ed pre-law fraternity.
She attended Santa Clara University School of Law where she balanced her traditional legal education with clinic work to develop hands-on experience in the areas of consumer and criminal law. While in law school, she volunteered with multiple non-profit organizations teaching and counseling at-risk youth, investigating claims of innocence of incarcerated individuals, and giving seminars on consumer rights.
After graduating with honors, Kate pursued a path of zealous advocacy as a public defender, focusing her energy on holistic representation. During her time as a public defender, she spent nearly every day in the courtroom engaging in all phases of litigation.
Recently, Kate used her experience and passion for advocacy to help veterans obtain federal benefits. In addition to holding the VA accountable, she counseled veterans on how to file successful claims.
