MONEY HUNGRY!!!! Tim, Claire, and the whole firm.
I usually approach writing reviews with a sense of responsibility and fairness, aiming to share
constructive feedback rather than to disparage. However, my experience with Tim Tate and his family
law firm compels me to issue a stark warning to others seeking legal representation. Only after I
fired this family firm, I did some research and found a troubling lawsuit from unhappy clients,
which I wish I saw this earlier.
My journey with this firm was horrible. My first call with Tim he said “you will have a lot more
money in your pocket” that should have been a red flag but me being so young at the time ,he knew
that and took advantage..That is not something a good, ethical lawyer promises. The promises made by
Tim were not only unfulfilled but were followed by actions that seemed deceitful and self-serving.
While I try to find positives even in negative situations, it's challenging in this case. The
notable exception was Ginger, a paralegal at the firm, her professionalism and empathy were the only
aspects that aligned with what one would expect from a legal team.
A few months into my case, on the phone, he promised word for word “I’m going to get you a MEGA
check”, and then completely denied that he said that at the end when he said I would only get
SIGNIFICANTLY LESS to my name for a big accident. I had multiple witnesses next to me who can
confirm he said that , why would I randomly lie about that. It's bewildering to think that after
deciding to part ways with Tim due to the unsatisfactory handling of my case, he still sought a
significant portion of the settlement—acquired through the hard work of another lawyer. He took 30
PERCENT of a case he didn’t settle. It felt like his family firm was coercing me into settling for
something I didn’t want when I told them I was unhappy multiple times, so that’s why I decided
to fire this firm top of all of the other issues. On top of that he took weeks to answer a text or
email from my new lawyers, making my case take longer when he knew I was in an unfavorable position
due to the accident.
Another point of skepticism arose from the pattern and frequency of the firm's online reviews. It's
unusual for a law firm to receive glowing reviews with such regularity, especially when some appear
to be from the same individuals multiple times. This anomaly raised doubts about the authenticity of
these testimonials.
Communication was minimal and, when it did occur, it was often centered around financial discussions
rather than the progress of my case. This left me feeling more like a revenue source rather than a
client in need of professional legal assistance. They didn’t even tell me that the insurance
company of the person who hit me reached out. I found out from my new lawyer.
I've pondered the motive behind writing this review and concluded that it's not out of spite but a
sincere hope that others might avoid a similarly disheartening experience. The ethics and practices
of Tim Tate and his firm, from my perspective, were alarmingly self-centered, focusing more on their
financial gain than on client welfare or case outcomes.
While I anticipate this review may be met with denial or dismissal, I assure you, it comes from a
place of pure honesty and a genuine concern for future clients. The decision to entrust someone with
your legal needs is significant, and based on my experience, I cannot recommend Tim Tate or his
firm. I encourage anyone considering their services to thoroughly research and consider other
options, including looking into the lawsuits and complaints lodged by previous clients.
