Attorney Biography
Mr. Magee is a board-certified criminal specialist and has been a lawyer in private practice for more than two decades. Prior to coming to the Austin area, he worked in several litigation law firms in Dallas, Texas. He has been involved in litigation for his entire legal career, working on family, professional liability, personal injury, and criminal cases. For the last 15 years he has worked exclusively to protect the rights of his clients accused of state and federal crimes.
While in law school at Texas A&M School of Law in Ft. Worth, Texas, Mr. Magee was a member of the law review, served as a research assistant, and graduated in the top 15% of his law school class.
Mr. Magee also holds a Master of Public Affairs and Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Mr. Magee is a member of the State Bar of Texas and is admitted in the federal courts, including the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas and the United States Supreme Court. As previsouly mentioned, he is also Board Certified in Criminal Law through the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, a distinction held by only 1% of all lawyers in Texas. He was a founding member of the Williamson County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, later serving as its president and president-emeritus.
Mr. Magee has also served in city government, as Assistant to the City Manager and City Manager, and as an adjunct lecturer in Politics and Government at several Texas universities and colleges.
