Judith Kay Mattern

Judith is the principal of the Law Offices of Judith Mattern Hearn in Weatherford and Ft. Worth, Texas, practicing in all areas of criminal defense. During the 17 years since Judith was licensed to practice law, she has dealt with both misdemeanors and felony prosecutions, and most recently has done both appellate and post conviction work.

Judith states "My interest in the law began with my father, Don Mattern. Dad was a small town County Sheriff, and he conducted the business of Sheriff with the help my Mother and I. I served as matron, secretary, and sometimes investigator. I watched my father deal with any number of crisis, always with the same quiet and meausred manner."

From that exposure, I developed an avid interest in the study of law, and defending the rights of those accused of a crime. That interest was what motivated me to go to law school and has motivated me to the dedication of advocacy for the protection of my clients and the rights guaranteed to them under our State and Federal Constitutions.

From watching my father, I learned there are always two sides to every story, do not jump to the obvious conclusion, treat each person with respect, recognize that person's rights, and protect them. I cannot guarantee an outcome. I can, however, promise that my clients will always have my best efforts and my full attention to the situation in which they find themselves.
