Attorney Biography
Jeffrey Brashear obtained his Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law and his Bachelor of Science in Business Management with secondary concentrations in Finance and Psychology from Liberty University. Mr. Brashear is a lifetime member of his legal honors fraternity Phi Delta Phi, was a Guardian Ad Litem for the Fourth Judicial Circuit of Duval County, Florida and received Pro Bono Honors while attending law school.
Mr. Brashear is a United States Naval Veteran with over eight of active duty service. Mr. Brashear's legal career began with a tour aboard the U.S.S. Philippine Sea (CG58). While aboard this U.S. Naval vessel, he defended the United States while visiting and taking in the cultural values of many other countries such as Poland, Lithuania, Sweden, Germany, Spain, Italy, Egypt and Greece. Mr. Brashear had the pleasure of working with the Navy Legal Service Office Southeast (NLSO SE) in Jacksonville, Florida. While at NLSO SE Judge Brashear handled claims matters under the Federal Tort Claims Act. Mr. Brashear was then stationed with the Trial Service Office Southeast (TSO SE) in Mayport, Florida. While at TSO SE Mr. Brashear was an elite member of the prosecution team. During Mr. Brashear’s tour at the TSO SE, they prosecuted a myriad of cases such as murder, rape, drug related crimes, embezzlement, and other misdemeanor and felony cases. Mr. Brashear completed his final three years of military service with the criminal defense and legal assistance teams at Naval Legal Service Office Central on Naval Construction Battalion Gulfport, Mississippi. During his final tour in Gulfport, Mr. Brashear handled a wide variety of legal issues to include but not limited to: criminal defense, civil litigation, divorce, child custody, child support, child visitation, taxes, constitutional issues, personal injury cases, business litigation, wills and estate drafting, and contract issues.
Mr. Brashear was raised in Katy, Texas and graduated from Katy High School where he was an exceptional athlete. Since his active duty service in the United States Navy, Mr. Brashear has moved back to his roots in Katy to raise his family. When Mr. Brashear is not handling cases from one of the local Municipal Courts he presides over, he is working hard for Donati Brashear Law Firm’s clientele. Some days you might find Mr. Brashear out on a baseball field with kids, playing his guitar, out in the woods hunting or even fishing in Matagorta or Galveston Bay or one of the many fresh water fishing spots in Texas.
Mr. Brashear is currently licensed to practice law by the Supreme Court of Texas and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Mr. Brashear's private practice areas include, but are not limited to: Criminal Defense, Personal Injury, Family Law, Civil Trial, Real Estate, Wills and Estate Planning, Entertainment Law, Construction Law, Corporate Litigation and Contractual Drafting.
