Attorney Biography
Ezekiel Tyson Jr., founder and managing attorney of the Tyson Law Firm, is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. He earned his undergraduate degree and J.D. from the University of Houston and was licensed to practice law in 2002. Attorney Tyson began his legal career in Houston, working with several small civil firms before transitioning into criminal prosecution for the City of Houston, handling both trial and appellate cases.
In 2004, Attorney Tyson relocated to Dallas, Texas, where he established the Tyson Law Firm. As a solo practitioner, he has built a reputation for aggressive representation in both criminal defense and personal injury cases, handling a broad range of matters—from traffic violations to high-profile murder cases—and managing numerous trials with successful outcomes.
Attorney Tyson's criminal defense practice includes defending individuals accused of state and federal crimes, including serious felonies such as murder, drug offenses, and white-collar crimes. Additionally, he is committed to advocating for victims of personal injury, representing those affected by car accidents, slip-and-fall incidents, and other serious injuries. With extensive experience in both trial and appellate courts, Attorney Tyson ensures his clients receive strong, effective representation tailored to their unique needs, whether they are seeking justice in the criminal courts or compensation for physical, emotional, and financial losses.
His work has garnered significant media attention, with cases chronicled in the Dallas Morning News, featured on Fox 4 News, and highlighted on the television show “After the First 48”, among others. A respected leader in the legal community, Attorney Tyson is a past president of the Dallas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the nation’s oldest criminal defense organization, and continues to serve as a faculty member for the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association’s Trial College.
In addition to his trial practice, Attorney Tyson has been honored to present numerous Continuing Legal Education (CLE) courses on trial preparation and techniques for organizations such as the State Bar of Texas, Dallas Association of Young Lawyers, and the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
Beyond the courtroom, Attorney Tyson is passionate about giving back to the community. He volunteers with several organizations, including the Dallas Community Police Oversight Board, Mile of Freedom Reentry Program, Habitat for Humanity, and the North Texas Food Bank, among others. His dedication to community service reflects his deep commitment to justice both inside and outside the legal system.
