I am a board certified specialist in criminal law with over 15 years of experience, all as a defense lawyer, never as a prosecutor. From my office in Austin, Texas, I defend the falsely-accused, the over-charged, and the misunderstood at trial and on appeal in state and federal courts.

Defending people and their businesses against accusations of criminal conduct is a special calling, and I believe it takes a particular perspective to do it effectively.

At its root, criminal defense work means restraining the power of the Government and overcoming the public mindset that not only tolerates, but often advocates for, abuse of that power. The Constitutional boundaries between police power and the freedom of every American are frequently determined by how our courts treat the accused in criminal cases. For that reason, I have a keen interest in taking cases where I can not only benefit the client, but also advance the rule of law in a direction that reinforces the rights of all Americans.
