Attorney Biography
I am a Texas native, born and raised in Fort Worth and Arlington. After earning my Bachelor’s Degree from Texas Christian University in 1992, I worked as a case investigator for Child Protective Services in Tarrant County. In 1997, I graduated with honors from Duke University School of Law, and joined the U.S. Navy JAG Corps. An honor graduate of the Naval Justice School, I served five years on active duty as the only Navy officer in a Marine Corps legal detachment, where I successfully prosecuted and defended an unprecedented number of courts-martial, or military criminal cases. I was honorably discharged in 2010 at the rank of lieutenant commander (O-4).After leaving active duty, I remained a reservist for several years, defending a large number of Marines and sailors as a Navy Appellate Defense Counsel, while also maintaining civilian employment with a law firm in Dallas. I eventually returned to Fort Worth to accept a position as a Tarrant County Assistant Criminal District Attorney, where I continued to hone my skill as a trial lawyer. Now, I enjoy what I consider the pinnacle of a career of service – I am a solo criminal defense attorney and civilian defense counsel with the education, training, experience, and skill to handle the toughest and most complicated cases. And the touchstone of my practice continues to be compassion and understanding for my clients. I consider the attorney-client relationship to be a sacred bond, and together we will not stop fighting until the fight is done.
