Attorney Biography
Samantha Harris has dedicated her career to protecting free speech and civil liberties. Her advice has guided students, faculty, administrators, and attorneys on issues of free speech and due process on campus for more than 15 years.
After graduating from Princeton University with an undergraduate degree in Politics, she went on to study law at the University of Pennsylvania. Following a federal clerkship and a brief stint as a litigation associate at Pepper Hamilton LLP, she joined the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, a nonprofit dedicated to defending students’ and faculty members’ individual rights. There, Samantha spent 15 years working to change university policies and practices that denied people their most fundamental rights.
She now lectures regularly about student and faculty rights at campuses and conferences around the country. She has been published in The Washington Post, the New York Daily News, Inside Higher Ed, Reason, National Review, Quillette, and other publications and has appeared on ESPN, Fox News, CNN, NPR, and more. Whether she is defending clients, speaking to crowds at conferences, or educating the general public about their rights in an educational setting, Samantha relishes the opportunity to use her passions to help others.
