Attorney Biography
For over 12 years, John A. Shoemaker has been a leader in the Pennsylvania legal field. Born and raised in Sullivan County, he graduated with honors from Kings College with a degree in accounting, and went on to earn his Juris Doctor degree at the Penn State Dickinson School of Law. After working as an associate and later partner at a firm in Williamsport, John launched his own firm in Dushore in 2019, where he is the managing attorney and director of talent.
John’s practice currently focuses on real estate, estate planning, and elder law. He takes pride in his approach to clients’ unique situations, helping them to accomplish goals in a straightforward, tax-advantaged way.
John has shared his expertise by instructing scores of continuing-education classes for Pennsylvania lawyers through the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and other organizations. He is currently a member of ElderCounsel, a nationwide organization for elder-law attorneys, which helps keep him at the cutting edge of developments in his practice areas.
