Attorney Biography
David E. Schwager is a partner of Chariton, Schwager & Malak. Listed in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers and a 6 year Pennsylvania Superlawyer as selected by Philadelphia Magazine.
Mr. Schwager maintains an active general business and transactional practice with particular emphasis in the areas of real estate, title insurance, real estate taxation, mortgage foreclosure and creditors' rights, municipal law, business formation and governance, and business and commercial litigation.
He also provides legal counsel to many individuals, corporations and other business entities, as well as several municipalities and municipal authorities.
A past Assistant District Attorney of Luzerne County, Mr. Schwager received his J.D. from The Dickinson School of Law of The Pennsylvania State University and his A.B. from Lafayette College.
Mr. Schwager has the distinction of having been appointed to two terms as a member of the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and a Past Member of the Investment Advisory Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.
Active in the organized bar and professional activities, Mr. Schwager is the Treasurer of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, serves on its Board of Governors and House of Delegates, and chairs its Finance, Investment, Bylaws, and Strategic Planning Committees.
He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, a Life Fellow and Member of the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation, Past Chair of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and Treasurer of the Middle District (PA) Bankruptcy Bar Association.
