Attorney Biography
Ashly McGarity is a dedicated criminal defense and immigration lawyer at Skinner Law Firm in West Chester, Pennsylvania. As an attorney, Ashly is adamant about helping people and advocating on their behalf, especially those in her native Chester County.
Before becoming an attorney, Ashly earned her bachelor's degree from Villanova University where she double majored in Russian Concentration and History. She also was the lead organizer of several human rights organizations where she developed a passion for assisting those in need.
Ashly began her career at Skinner Law Firm in 2012 as a law clerk prior to earning her juris doctor. She also concurrently worked at the Law Offices of Jamie W. Goncharoff, where she handled a broad range of civil matters, including personal injury and complex litigation.
Additionally, she worked as a law clerk at the Office of the Federal Public Defender for the District of Delaware, focusing primarily on constitutional and federal cases with underlying immigration issues and conflicts. She also served as a paralegal at a personal injury and immigration firm in Philadelphia, handling cases in state, federal, immigration and appellate courts.
After earning her juris doctor from Widener University School of Law, she became an associate attorney at Skinner Law Firm where she handles a plethora of criminal defense cases, including DUI, drug charges and domestic violence. However, she has a particular interest in aiding people throughout the immigration process, including issues concerning criminal convictions and immigration.
When she is not fighting for the rights of clients, Ashly remains involved in the legal community. She is a member of local, state and national legal organizations, including the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
