Attorney Biography
Born and raised in Canton, Illinois, Jeffery A. Linn, II, moved to Columbus, Ohio, in 2008. Initially, he worked as a law clerk for Yavitch & Palmer before passing the bar exam and joining the firm as an associate. He is now a Columbus criminal defense attorney, concentrating his practice on Criminal Defense including juvenile offenses, misdemeanors, felonies, and federal offenses. Specifically, he handles he handles Assault; Alcohol-Related Offenses; Battery; Burglary; Embezzlement; Domestic Violence; Drunk Driving (DUI, OVI, OMVI, DWI); Drug Offenses; Kidnapping; Larceny; Robbery; Sex Crimes; Murder; Traffic Offenses; andAppellate Practice.
Jeff earned a Juris Doctorate degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan and is admitted to practice in both Ohio and the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Ohio. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association, and Columbus Bar Association.
While at Cooley Law School, Jeff was an honorary member of the Moot Court Board. During that time, he entered several moot court competitions and was recognized as a top advocate. Most notably, he represented Cooley Law School in the American Bar Association's National Appellate Advocacy Competition in Las Vegas, Nevada. The competition was against other law students from across the country. Jeff drafted an appellate brief and advocated on behalf of his client regarding complex issues of the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
Before deciding to attend law school, Jeff completed his undergraduate degree at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. During his four years at Ambrose, Jeff studied Finance and Economics and managed to graduate Cum Laude with two Bachelor's Degrees. For his efforts, he was inducted into the Pi Eta Sigma Honor Society and the Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Society. In addition, Jeff worked as an office product sales representative at Alcoa, Inc. and Bandag, Inc.
In his spare time, Jeff enjoys numerous hobbies, such as playing golf, watching movies, reading, and spending time with his wife and daughter.
