Attorney Biography
Mary Blanton grew up in Alexandria, Virginia. She graduated from Wake Forest University and Georgetown Law and has lived and worked in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia, as a teacher, college professor and legislative assistant/law clerk before moving with her family to Salisbury, NC in 1983. She graduated from Wake Forest University magna cum laude in 1972, and from Georgetown University Law Center cum laude in 1981. Mary has practiced law in Rowan County since 1985. She became a family law specialist in 2001, and is a certified mediator, family financial mediator, and parenting coordinator. She and her husband, Ted, have raised four children, all grown and one married. She has served on a number of civic and church boards and organizations. Mary enjoys reading, gardening, hiking and skiing in her spare time.
