Attorney Biography
Janeen majored in International Studies and minored in Spanish while at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She went on to graduate from law school at Loyola University in New Orleans. Prior to joining Rawls, Scheer, Foster & Mingo, Janeen was the managing attorney at the Charlotte office of Kuck Immigration partners and the supervisor for litigation at Catholic Charities in Atlanta Georgia. Janeen has gained a multitude of experiences, practicing in all areas of U.S. immigration and nationality law and now focuses on deportation defense. Janeen’s years of experience in deportation defense have provided her with extensive knowledge and understanding of the deportation process. She has given numerous trainings for the Georgia Asylum Immigration Network (GAIN) for new immigration practitioners. She also facilitates "Know Your Rights" presentations with the UNC School of Law, and conducts immigration workshops with the Latin American Coalition of Charlotte and the Charlotte Coalition for Social Justice. She has taught a number of CLE's with the Mecklenburg County Bar and has been a guest panelist at the Charlotte School of Law.
