Attorney Biography
James C. MacRae, Jr. is a seasoned attorney with over three decades of legal experience, focusing primarily on personal injury, criminal law, and civil litigation. A Fayetteville native, Jim began his legal career in 1988 as an Assistant District Attorney in Cumberland County before joining MacRae & Whitley, LLP in 1989. He is licensed to practice in all North Carolina state courts, all United States District Courts within North Carolina, the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Jim holds a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Western Carolina University (1983) and earned his Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University School of Law in 1988. He is a respected member of the North Carolina State Bar, North Carolina Bar Association, Cumberland County Bar Association, and the North Carolina Advocates for Justice.
Jim's practice covers a wide range of legal matters, including serious personal injury cases such as automobile, motorcycle, and trucking accidents, workplace injuries, wrongful death, school-related assaults and neglect, condemnation, and eminent domain.
