Attorney Biography
Elaine Ashley is a North Carolina Board of Legal Specialization Certified Specialist in Family Law, is a North Carolina Dispute Resolution Certified Family Financial Mediator, and is a trained Collaborative Divorce Professional. Elaine focuses her practice exclusively on helping families, whether through the turmoil of divorce, or providing comfort and security for the future through Estate Planning.
Elaine is a 1976 University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance, and a Master of Music degree from Southern Methodist University in 1977 where she graduated summa cum laude. Elaine earned her Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University in 1998. While obtaining her law degree, she served as an assistant associate editor of the North Carolina Central Law Journal, was a member of the Trial Advocacy Board, and first place holder of its Willie Gary Trial Competition.
Elaine is a member of the North Carolina Bar, the American Bar Association, the North Carolina Bar Association, the 18th Judicial District Bar, the Greensboro Bar Association, the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys, the Guilford County Chapter of the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys, the Guilford American Inn of Court, and the Triad Collaborative Law Group. Elaine has held leadership roles in both the Guilford Bar Association Family Law Section and the Guilford Chapter of the Association of Women Attorneys, and servedas a preceptor with the Elon University School of Law since the arrival of the inaugural class in the fall of 2005.
