Attorney Biography
I am an experienced and effective commercial litigator with over 30 years’ experience in Am Law 100 law firms and a proven track record of winning dispositive motions and settling favorably for local, national, and global clients both as plaintiffs and as defendants in state and federal courts, and in mediations and arbitrations. My skills and experience will help you defend complex cases, develop an overarching strategy for recurring legal issues, ensure effective and cost-efficient representation, and minimize litigation risk and potential liabilities.
With experiences in private practice and as a state prosecutor, I bring a great breadth and depth of litigation experience. I have been first chair trial counsel in over 20 trials, litigated in federal and state courts in 18 states, managed litigation in 15 states as national coordinating counsel, managed a caseload of over 23,000 cases in New York for a global auto company, and represented clients from every continent in the world except Antarctica. Prior to entering private practice, as a Senior Trial Attorney in the Economic Crimes Bureau of the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office, I investigated and prosecuted financial frauds, forged documents and false statements, labor racketeering, extortion, and embezzlement.
In addition to commercial contract, warranty and fraud cases, I have represented both plaintiffs and defendants in securities class actions and derivative cases, D&O litigation, employment litigation, technology disputes, and litigation arising from M&A transactions. I have also handled consumer class actions, and cases involving a broad range of litigation issues for consumer products, B2B, financial, construction, real estate, B2B, pharma, and technology companies. One of my clients praised me for being a jack of all trades and as relentless as a junkyard dog.
I have also helped clients reduce their risk and exposure to litigation and control their expenses when litigation was necessary. I have a strong record of resolving claims and potential claims through negotiation and mediation, even at early stages of the dispute. For example, I resolved claims brought against a California bank by a bankruptcy trustee of $60 million for fraudulent conveyance and breach of contract. We settled for $225,000 prior to the start of discovery and before starting to spend a $1.2 million litigation budget. And with my experience both as lead counsel and as part of larger teams, I will quickly become an integral part of your litigation team.
