Attorney Biography
Jan Gilman-Tepper co-founder of the firm has practiced family law for over 30 years and concentrates her practice in the area of business divorces.
Her clients include business owners, or their spouses. She has worked with large and small businesses. She has represented owners, corporate officers, or their spouses, in all major industries in New Mexico.
This concentration has prepared her to handle the problems which arise when a business is involved in a divorce.
She sees the big picture and can help solve problems in an efficient manner. The last thing the business needs is a long drawn out divorce Court process. She is skilled in all alternative dispute resolution methods, which include: Collaborative Divorce, mediated divorce, negotiation and facilitation.
According to an article in the New Mexico Bar Bulletin, Jan "Helped spearhead collaborative divorce, a process aimed at helping families resolve the legal, emotional, financial and parenting aspects of divorce without resorting to litigation."
She frequently lectures on Collaborative Divorce topics for Continuing Legal Education Seminars in New Mexico for attorneys, financial and mental health experts.
