Attorney Biography
William H. Donahue, Jr., Esq., APM, founded Transitions Mediation Center in 1995 to address the growing need for mediation in the Philadelphia and South Jersey area, as an alternative to expensive, time-consuming, and emotionally draining litigation.
Donahue mediates a wide range of family disputes including divorce. Specializing in the mediation of high-conflict cases and cases involving children, he is a master at helping people resolve their divorce issues in a civil manner, so they can get on with their lives.
Admitted to practice law in 1984 in New Jersey and in Pennsylvania in 1989, Donahue also maintains a private litigation practice in South Jersey (Camden, Burlington and Gloucester Counties). His practice includes divorce and family law, domestic violence, and post-divorce cases, as well as personal injury, real estate, wills and trusts.
Donahue is a nationally recognized speaker on family mediation and is often interviewed in local media. His book, Reconcilable Differences: A Consumer's Guide to Divorce Mediation, uses an easy, non-technical approach to explain the basic principles underlying mediation. The book shares simple examples of couples he's worked with, and how they were able to use mediation to resolve their divorces and preserve the key relationships in their lives, especially those with children.
