Attorney Biography
Thaddeus (Ted) J. Hubert is a Partner in the firm. He currently serves as Supervising Partner of the firm's Legal and Accounting Malpractice Litigation practice group. He also defends insurance producers, engineers, and architects and has handled many complex pieces of commercial litigation, including claims arising from construction projects of all types. He has particular expertise in the Law of Ethics because of his involvement in legal malpractice matters. Because of that background, he functions as the firm's Ethics Partner.
Ted Hubert is Certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Civil Trial Attorney. As such he has extensive experience handling cases in both the State and Federal Courts. Additionally Ted has also is experienced in resolving matters through Alternate Dispute Resolution forums. He has practiced law with Hoagland Longo since its inception in 1977. He became a partner at the firm in 1982 and has achieved an "AV" rating from other members of the legal profession. This is the highest rating awarded, and it identifies a lawyer with "very high to preeminent legal ability, and is a reflection of his expertise, experience, integrity and overall professional excellence" as published in Martindale Hubbell. In 2011, Ted was the recipient of the Trial Bar Award by the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey (TANJ), which is awarded to only a few select outstanding trial attorneys who demonstrate exceptional litigation skills throughout their career. Additionally, since 2005, Ted has been selected to the New Jersey Super Lawyers® list. In 2015, he was selected by the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey (TANJ) to receive the Professional Lawyer of the Year Award by The New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law, a unique cooperative venture of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the state and federal judiciary, and New Jersey’s three law schools.
Because of his background in handling legal malpractice matters since 1991 Ted has lectured fellow attorneys on Risk Management issues. Over the years the lectures have been given for the insureds of a major Professional Liability Carrier, for State and Local Bar Associations and for continuing legal education courses in New Jersey and elsewhere.
