He was assigned the elite Hardcore Gang Unit in the Compton Courthouse. After relocating to New Jersey, he worked as an Assistant United States Attorney before joining the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office as an Assistant Prosecutor. During his career, he has conducted more than 100 jury trials and countless court hearings. Mr. Herring’s extensive experience in every phase of the judicial process includes handling matters ranging from murder, gang crimes, robbery, weapons, theft, embezzlement, and DWI/DUI. Mr. Herring is a member of the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers of New Jersey, the National College for DUI Defense, and the DUI Defense Lawyers Association. Mr. Herring was selected as one of the Best Attorneys of America, which invites less than one percent (1%) of the attorneys of America. Douglas Herring has conducted over 100 jury trials and hundreds of court hearings. Mr. Herring spent many years as a Deputy District Attorney for Los Angeles County, assigned to the prestigious Hardcore Gang Homicide Division in Compton. Mr. Herring relocated to New Jersey and worked as an Assistant United States Attorney in Newark and Trenton. He expanded his experience and began as an Assistant Prosecutor in Middlesex County. Eventually, Mr. Herring was the busiest prosecutor on a trial team where he handled all aspects of the cases from the original charging through trial before a jury.
