Attorney Biography
Doug Brown was born in Junction City, Kansas and served in the United States Marine Corps between 1989 and 1993 before entering the legal profession. He completed his undergraduate studies in Political Science at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1997 and earned his Juris Doctor from the McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific in 2001. That same year, he was admitted to practice law in Nevada.
As part of his early legal development, Doug worked as a legal extern for the Honorable Howard D. McKibben and later served as a law clerk to the Honorable William A. Maddox of Nevada’s First Judicial District Court from 2001 to 2002.
Prior to joining Benson & Bingham Injury Law, Doug was a partner and shareholder at Lemons, Grundy & Eisenberg. During that time, he built substantial experience handling complex civil litigation matters, including multiple jury trials, arbitrations, and mediations throughout his career.
Doug is actively involved in the legal community and holds membership in the Washoe County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the American Inns of Court, Bruce R. Thompson Chapter. In addition, he founded and directs Truckee River Public Waters, a nonprofit organization focused on expanding public access to public lands and waterways.
He has earned an AV Preeminent® rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the organization’s highest peer distinction for professional excellence, legal ability, and ethical standards.
Raised in Reno, Nevada, Doug continues to live in the area. Outside of his legal practice, he enjoys fly fishing, spending time with his wife Leslie, and bird hunting with his dog, Rosebud.
