Attorney Biography
Ramona (Capkovic) Gau is a Jefferson County native; she grew up in High Ridge and graduated from Northwest High School. After high school, Ramona attended Hannibal-LaGrange University, where she majored in Administration of Justice.In 2003, Ramona completed her undergraduate studies, earning her Bachelor of Science degree, and graduating with honors (magna cum laude).From there, Ramona attended the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law where she graduated in 2006, with her law degree. Before graduating law school, Ramona was selected as an early hire to join the public defender’s office.After graduation, Ramona joined the public defender’s office with the intention of sharpening her litigation skills.During her time as a public defender, Ramona represented clients from simple traffic tickets all the way to homicide cases and tried numerous cases to juries, including serious felonies and homicide cases.
After her time with the public defender, Ramona joined a family law firm and exclusively practiced in the areas of divorce, child custody, modifications, orders of protection, and other family law matters. Today, Ramona puts her trial experience to use by focusing on, criminal defense, family law, and other general civil litigation matters. Ramona is a member of the Jefferson County Bar Association and volunteers as a coach for the Northwest Junior Lady Lions Basketball League.
