Attorney Biography
I am one of a few Minnesota lawyers who are Dual Board Certified by the Minnesota State Bar Association as Specialist in Civil Trials and Labor and Employment Law. My practice is now mainly in employment law representing employees and in representing small to medium size businesses in commercial lawsuits.
In over 50 years of practice, I have worked in many legal areas and obtained substantial jury verdicts. My clients have prevailed in many cases and some of those have established new law.
Legal organizations over the years have asked me to speak or write on a number of legal subjects. Those include non-compete and trade secret cases, wrongful terminations, sexual harassment, discrimination of all kinds, whistleblowing, trial techniques and strategies etc.
Tax matters, personal injury, commercial matters, and a number of different legal areas afforded me the opportunity to serve as an arbitrator, mediator, and even once as a special master recommending a decision for a judge in a complex accounting matter.
I was fortunate to go through college and law school at the University of Minnesota on various scholarships.
My years of practice taught me that legal matters, and especially litigation, are very hard on everyone involved, clients and often their families, and even on lawyers. Therefore, kind and gentle treatment is necessary even though big legal battles are being fought in our adversarial process. In the end, you have to realize it is only a case and the sun will come out tomorrow. However, you can be strong but nice too.
If you think we can help you, please call me. Thanks...Jerry
