Michael R. Bartish is a founding member of Springstead & Bartish Law, P.L.L.C.. He defends and represents clients in state and federal courts throughout Western Michigan from Niles to Traverse City. One of the leading Grand Rapids criminal lawyers, Mr. Bartish splits his criminal defense practice fairly evenly between federal criminal cases in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan, and state criminal cases in Kent, Ottawa, Muskegon, Kalamazoo and Calhoun counties.
Mr. Bartish has obtained not guilty verdicts in both state and federal courts throuhout Westen Michigan. He has won a number of appeals at the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals including two published victories.
Mr. Bartish is a former active duty Judge Advocate General in the U.S. Army where he served at Fort Hood, Texas, from 1999 through 2002. During his active duty service. He is presently a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves.
Awards and Recognition
Mr. Bartish was named to the 2014 Michigan Super Lawyers List for Criminal Law. The Super Lawyer award is bestowed on less than 5% of all practicing attorneys in the state. Mike was named to the 2010, 2011, and 2012 Michigan Super Lawyers Rising Star Lists.The Rising Stars list showcases outstanding lawyers younger than 40 in the state; only 2.5 percent of the lawyers in Michigan are selected for inclusion each year.
