Michael D Elkins

I am a retired Michigan trial attorney, licensed in 1958. In June 2024 I retained Michael Elkins to sue a landscape company and its holding co. for breach of contract relating to the planting of dozens of trees and the filling of a lawn depression. Elkins filed the action in the Oakland County (MI) circuit court. He is very familiar with this court and Michigan Court rules. Elkins failed to respond to a defense motion for Summary disposition, or to defense's requests for their submitted admissions of fact most of which were incorrect and loaded. Such lack of response caused the court to rule against me in both instances, costing me loss of the right to claim thousands of dollars in specific damages. He failed to timely and fully communicate; he accepted part of a retainer payment without providing any service. He unilaterally abandoned my representation even though he has not been allowed withdraw by the court as is required by Michigan Law. He has ignored court procedures regarding filing of motions, resulting in the court denying our requests. He failed to respond. He was egregious in failing to timely communicate with either me or opposing counsel as is mandated by our lawyers' professional code. He has offered no justifiable cause or excuse for such egregious unprofessional misconduct. He should not be permitted to continue practicing law as he is a danger to prospective clients. Sanford N.
