Attorney Biography
Attorney Gabrielle L. Denby founded The Denby Law Office, P.C. in October 2015, and represents clients in all areas of Domestic Relations Litigation, Probate and Estate Planning, and LGBTQ/Non-Traditional Law.
While Gabrielle is a trial attorney and zealously represents clients in litigating divorce, complex and high-asset divorce, modification, contempt, custody, separate support, and paternity/parentage actions, she always aims to avoid unnecessary and costly litigation. Gabrielle is a strong advocate for alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and collaboration. Consequently, Gabrielle enters each case with the mindset of a negotiator so as to assist her clients in obtaining a settlement.
Gabrielle provides superior legal service not only to traditional families, but also to non-traditional families and the LGBTQ community. She comes to the field of law, not only with an appreciation of how difficult and emotionally draining litigating a traditional domestic relations action can be, but also with an acute understanding of the many sensitive, unique, and complex issues that arise for LGBTQ individuals and families.
Despite that Gabrielle specializes in high-net worth divorces and complex domestic relations matters, Gabrielle aims to maintain a practice that represents all types of families. Particularly, she recognizes that many individuals are in critical need of legal assistance, but often cannot afford such representation. Consequently, Gabrielle is involved in the Family Law Project of the Women’s Bar Foundation, where she represents survivors of Domestic Violence on a pro bono basis. As a result of Gabrielle's continuing dedication to pro bono work in the community, in 2016 the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court inducted The Denby Law Office in its prestigious "Pro Bono Honor Roll".
In 2016, Gabrielle was recognized as a "Massachusetts Super Lawyers Rising Star" in the area of family law. Only 2.5% of lawyers under the age of 40 are selected for this list, which is published annually by Thomson Reuters rating service in Boston Magazine.
In 2016, Gabrielle was named by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys as "10 Best" in the Attorney category of Client Satisfaction. The American Institute of Family Law Attorneys also named The Denby Law P.C as "10 Best Law Firms" within the Firm category of Client Satisfaction. Additionally, in 2016, the American Institute of Legal Counsel named Gabrielle as "10 Best" Attorneys in the Estate Planning category.
In 2016, the National Academy of Jurisprudence awarded Gabrielle the designation of Premier 100 Trial Attorneys in the area of civil litigation.
Additionally, Gabrielle is rated as "Superb" by AVVO, a website that provides lawyer rating and other legal resources. In 2015, Gabrielle was awarded the AVVO Client Choice Award, and has been listed as an AVVO Top Contributor since 2015.
Gabrielle graduated Cum Laude from Mount Holyoke College (2008), holds a Masters in Political Science from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, Syracuse University (2010), and received her Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School (2013). Gabrielle was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 2013.
Gabrielle is an active member in the community and is particularly involved in cancer education and self-advocacy. As a survivor herself, Gabrielle has and continues to work with several organizations both in a fund raising capacity, and as a speaker and panelist.
Gabrielle also volunteers her time as an Attorney Coach for the Canton High School Mock Trial Team, which competes in the annual Massachusetts Bar Association High School Mock Trial Competition. For the 2015-2016 Annual Competition, Canton High School made it to the Final 4, out of 136 teams throughout Massachusetts.
