Michelle Profit

Michelle Profit is an estate planning attorney serving Maryland and the District of Columbia. A Harvard Law School graduate, she has worked in the financial services industry for over 20 years. A dedicated advocate for all of her clients, Michelle Q. Profit personally handles each client case from start to finish to meet the client’s needs and objectives. Michelle listens in the consultation sessions and works with any other client accountants or financial planners to create a comprehensive estate plan.

For families, Michelle uses a variety of legal strategies to preserve family wealth and help parents pass their life savings to children or other heirs. Working with families, Michelle can use a power of attorney, durable power of attorney, living will, revocable or irrevocable trust to minimize death taxes, manage wealth transfer, and ensure family wishes are honored during medical emergencies and serious illnesses.

For those families with a disabled child or declining parent, comprehensive plans, including legally compliant trusts, wills and forms can be used to keep eligibility for Medicaid benefits and Supplemental Social Security benefits, as well as an acceptable standard of living. Specifically, special needs trusts, for elderly parents and ABLE accounts can be created for those who become disabled before 26.

Profit volunteers her time, and lends her financial expertise to non-profit organizations including Wills for Heroes, where she has drafted wills, durable power of attorneys and power of attorneys for health care, living wills, for America’s first responders.
