Attorney Biography
Lester J. (Jody) Zaunbrecher is a Partner in the Lafayette office of Allen & Gooch. He earned his law degree at the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in 1982, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Louisiana Law Review and was admitted to the Order of the Coif. He is a Board Certified Specialist both in the fields of Tax Law and Estate Planning and Administration. Jody is recognized by Martindale-Hubbell as an AV rated attorney, and was selected in 2009 to be recognized among Super Lawyers in Louisiana.
His tax practice includes income tax strategies for individuals and business entities as well as handling federal and state tax controversies. Jody represents a large number of professionals and enterprises in structuring and administering their businesses, as well as tax-exempt entities and private foundations.
In his commercial practice, he represents businesses and owners in the formation and structuring of business arrangements, general and sophisticated business matters, negotiating and drafting complex contracts, and advising purchasers and sellers in business combinations, mergers and acquisitions.
His estate planning practice includes advising individuals on the tax problems of large estates, the drafting of wills and trusts and litigation of contested successions and related tax matters.
