Attorney Biography
Attorney Dwayne Burrell grew up in New Orleans, LA, where he learned early in life the importance and value an attorney brings to their clients. Dwayne understands that when going through the justice system alone, it is not always fair. He also understands that the power players stand too strong to compete with, especially during such a vulnerable time. Dwayne can help. Dwayne strives to provide the need assistance and professional advocacy to his clients day in and day out. ? As a law student, Dwayne was a member of the Trial Advocacy Executive Board, where he served as Vice-President of Media and Outreach. Dwayne also served as Vice President for the Public Interest Law Society (PILS), where he founded the PILS Unity Basketball Classic, a law school bonding and fundraising effort. Dwayne was a clerk for the East Baton Rouge Public Defender's Office, Capital Post Conviction Project of Louisiana, and the Law Center's Immigration Clinic, where he fought for people in desperate need of representation. Through those clerkships, valuable experience was gained. Dwayne was also an apprentice of "The Selection and Persuasion of Your Jury", an apprenticeship under one of Louisiana's best litigators. Through these experiences, he developed the knowledge and skills necessary to fight for his clients. Dwayne also participated in multiple internal competitions in Trial Advocacy.? Dwayne received his Juris Doctorate and Graduate Diploma in Civil Law from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in 2014. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of New Orleans, with a minor in Business Management. He's a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association.
