Attorney Biography
While passing the bar in both Indiana and Texas in the same year, I decided early on to stay true to my roots as a Hoosier and remain close to family in Johnson County, Indiana. For eight-and-a-half years, I practiced with one of the largest law firms in the county where I focused on bankruptcy, consumer rights, foreclosure defense, and general litigation. In 2015, I decided to make the leap and open the Law Office of Matthew M. Cree, where I continue to provide personal, caring service to those facing the most stressful times of their lives. In my personal life, I enjoy the company of my family, which includes four dogs and five cats. The menagerie of animals most likely has something to do with my serving as the president of the board of directors for the Humane Society of Johnson County and my seeming inability to say "no" to taking in stray kittens. I have a deep love for my community and am proud to be a 2010 graduate of Leadership Johnson County. More recently, I had the pleasure of assisting with the development of a non-profit destination marketing organization to promote and grow Johnson County tourism and business.
