Attorney Biography
Andrew Nickel has spent his entire legal career dedicated to all areas of criminal and family law. A native of the far western suburbs of Chicago, Andrew earned his bachelor of arts from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He went on to attend Case Western Reserve University School of Law, situated in northern Ohio, graduating with honors. Along with his Juris Doctorate, Andrew successfully completed, with honors, a concentration certificate in litigation.
In addition to his years in private practice, Andrew Nickel spent nearly five years as a prosecutor in both Kane and Kendall counties. As an Assistant State’s Attorney in Kane County, Andrew handled a wide variety of cases, including traffic matters, misdemeanor and felony DUI cases, as well as other felony matters including violent crimes, theft, drug and weapon offenses. While an Assistant State’s Attorney in Kendall County, Andrew was the supervisor of the traffic, DUI and misdemeanor division. Andrew has tried dozens of jury trials and countless bench trials.
In private practice, Andrew has utilized his vast experience as a prosecutor in successfully defending his clients against all types of criminal charges. In family cases, he has fought vigorously for his clients in divorces, paternity actions, custody disputes, and child support actions. The same courtroom skills he developed as a prosecutor has made him an experienced, aggressive advocate for all of his clients, regardless of their legal needs.
