Attorney Biography
I am an experienced arbitrator and mediator with more than 100 commercial and consumer matters resolved since 2020.
I serve on the panels of the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), American Arbitration Association (AAA) , the Better Business Bureau (BBB) AUTOLINE, New Era ADR, and National Arbitration and Mediation (NAM). I am also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CiArb) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
My neutral work spans commercial, supply chain, cybersecurity, cryptocurrency, privacy, banking and contract disputes, with a particular focus on the automotive, industrial supply and online business sectors.
My arbitration and mediation practice is informed by 40+ years as an international business attorney negotiating complex commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance matters. This transactional foundation allows me to quickly understand business priorities, assess risks, and guide parties toward efficient, fair, and practical resolutions.
Beyond my work as a neutral and a lawyer, I serve on the adjunct faculty of Loyola University (Chicago) School of Law where I developed and teach a course in Cybersecurity Management, as well as teaching European Data Privacy.
Away from the office, hearing room, and classroom, I live in the heart of downtown Chicago. I take many photographs of all aspects of this amazing city while strolling the streets of Chicago (regularly posting them as Draa Photography on LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram). My wife, Ana, is an actor and I enjoy attending her frequent performances at Chicago theaters, as well as watching her on television and in the movies. We both enjoy dining at the many great Chicago restaurants, bicycling and pickleball.I am an experienced arbitrator and mediator with more than 100 commercial and consumer matters resolved since 2020.
