Attorney Biography
David Madden is the managing attorney and founder of Madden Law LLC, a Lisle, Illinois-based law firm serving individuals, families, and small businesses throughout DuPage County, Cook County, and the greater Chicago area. Licensed to practice law in Illinois since 2003, David brings over two decades of legal experience to his clients, blending big-firm expertise with the accessibility and personal attention of a local practice.
Before establishing Madden Law LLC in 2025, David built a distinguished career at respected national and regional law firms, representing corporations, high-net-worth individuals, and business owners in complex legal matters. His areas of focus include bankruptcy, estate planning, small business law, business succession, commercial litigation, and collections. His background enables him to approach client matters with both strategic foresight and practical solutions that align with long-term goals.
David holds a Juris Doctor and a Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from DePaul University College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Public Policy from Michigan State University. He is admitted to practice in Illinois, Michigan, and several federal courts, including the United States District Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois and the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
A United States Marine Corps Reserve veteran, honorably discharged as an infantry Corporal in 2003, David applies the discipline, resilience, and leadership developed during his service to his legal practice. He is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals, reflecting his commitment to staying current on data privacy and cybersecurity issues.
David is an active member of the American Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, and Chicago Bar Association, where he serves as Legislative Liaison for the Cyber Law and Data Privacy Committee. He has authored and co-authored numerous articles on bankruptcy, corporate law, and litigation strategy, and has been a featured speaker at professional seminars.
Outside of his legal work, David is a technology enthusiast, enjoys coding, and is dedicated to community involvement. He lives in the Chicago suburbs with his wife and three children and spends his free time working out and supporting his kids’ school and sporting events.
