Attorney Biography
Barry Levin has been fighting for clients as a Worker’s Compensation and Personal Injury Trial Attorney for over 30 years and he has been with Sostrin and Sostrin since 1987.
His practice focuses in representing clients in personal injury and employees in workers’ compensation cases before the Workers’ Compensation Commission, Illinois Circuit, Illinois Appellate and Illinois Supreme Courts. Barry is licensed in the Federal Court. Prior to representing the rights of injured people, Barry worked for the Cook County Sheriff’s office for four years and as a Public Defender in Cook County for six years.
He has spoken on workers’ compensation and personal injury topics for the Chicago Bar Association and is a frequent speaker at Union meetings, Labor/Union seminars, and Labor Law/Workers’ Compensation Workshops in Illinois. He has lectured on uninsured and underinsured motorist cases for the Chicago Bar Association. Barry is a frequent arbitrator for uninsured and underinsured cases in Cook and DuPage Counties.
He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois Bar Association, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and the Workers Compensation Lawyer Association. Barry earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois, with High Honors. He earned his Juris Doctor from IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1977. He is admitted to the Illinois State Bar, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 7th Circuit, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois. Barry is an avid golfer.
