Attorney Biography
As founder of trial law firm Ratzan Weissman & Boldt, Stuart Ratzan has successfully tried and resolved some of the most significant cases heard in state and federal courtrooms, both in Florida and throughout the U.S. He has extensive experience in handling catastrophic injury, medical malpractice, birth injury, and product liability cases, having secured multi-million-dollar judgments and settlements on behalf of his clients, including five of the nation’s top-100 verdicts within the past five years. He is also highly experienced in highway construction, transportation negligence, and building safety cases, with the ability to try any type of case throughout the nation. Specialty areas include: Medical Malpractice, Birth Injury, Personal Injury and Wrongful Death, Product Liability, Medical Device Defects, Drug Defects, Automobile Wrecks, Transportation Negligence, Catastrophic Injury, Litigation, Pharmaceutical Recalls, Whistleblower Representation, Cigarette Cases, Complex Commercial Disputes, and High-Level Appellate Matters. Additionally, he serves as Chair of the American Board of Trial Advocates Miami COVID19 Jury Trial Task Force and is a frequent lecturer at seminars for the Florida Bar Association and Florida Justice Association. Previously, Mr. Ratzan was President of the Young Lawyers Division of the Florida Bar (2000-2001), served the Florida Bar Board of Governors (1999-2001), and the Executive Council of the Florida Bar Association’s Trial Lawyers Section (2009-2014). He was a Member of the Board of Directors of the Florida Justice Association (2003-2009) and was part of the Executive Committee (2006-2008). He is the Immediate Past President of Temple Beth Am in Pinecrest, Florida, the largest Reform Jewish Congregation in Florida.
