Attorney Biography
Shawn graduated with honors from the Thomas M. Cooley College of Law in December of 2002. During law school, Shawn was an editor of the Law Review, a member of the 60+ elder law clinic, and participated in mock trials and moot court programs and competitions. Shawn began his legal career working as a criminal defense attorney in Bartow, FL, and represented hundreds of clients charged with crimes. Shawn represented clients charged with misdemeanors, DUI’s and felonies, including murder and sexual assault.
After a few years, Shawn began practicing civil trial. He further perfected his trial skills by trying several civil cases to verdict. Civil cases, unlike criminal cases, involve disputes between two or more people or companies regarding their legal rights. Both criminal and civil cases present unique legal issues that Shawn is well versed to handle.
In his free time, Shawn remains very active in the local community. He is a member of the Bartow Rotary and has served as the secretary of the Rotary Club. He currently serves as president of the Bartow Rotary Club. For the past four years, Shawn has volunteered his time to teach high school students about the law, trial practice, and procedure.
