Sarah E. Kay is a board-certified specialist in Marital and Family Law through The Florida Bar-a designation held by fewer than 1 percent of Florida lawyers. As a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator with collaborative training, Sarah focuses her practice on alternative dispute resolution of family law matters. She applies advanced technology in her law practice and instructs other lawyers on ways to incorporate tech into their firms. She has been listed as a Rising Star in family law in Florida Super Lawyers magazine each year since 2013 and is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale Hubbell.
Sarah earned her J.D. magna cum laude at Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport and her M.B.A. with academic honors at Stetson University in Deland. Prior to law school, Sarah earned her B.S. in Middle School Education and Spanish summa cum laude at Gordon College in Wenham, MA, and her M.Ed. in Secondary Education at Worcester State University in Worcester, MA. Sarah speaks fluent Spanish and taught Spanish in Massachusetts public middle and high schools prior to pursuing her legal career. She is an active member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association, the Hillsborough Association for Women Lawyers and The Florida Bar and received the 2018 Chair’s Award of Extraordinary Service from the Family Law Section of The Florida Bar. She practices exclusively in the area of marital and family law with Sessums Black Caballero and Ficarrotta, P.A. in Tampa.
