Attorney Biography
Michael “Mickey” Keenan is the founder and managing attorney of Mickey Keenan, P.A., a veteran-led personal injury and estate planning law firm based in Tampa, Florida. A native of New York, Mickey enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves in 1994 and relocated to Tampa to pursue higher education. Before beginning college, he deployed to Haiti for Operation Uphold Democracy, later earning his degree from the University of South Florida and his Juris Doctor from the Levin College of Law at the University of Florida.
In 2003, during his final semester of law school, Mickey was called back to active duty, deploying to the Middle East for Operation Iraqi Freedom. This experience profoundly shaped his personal values and professional mission. Upon returning, he began his legal career in insurance defense, first as an associate at Gallagher & Howard and later as a partner at Gallagher & Keenan. While successful, Mickey felt compelled to use his skills to directly help individuals rather than corporations.
In 2014, he founded Mickey Keenan, P.A. with the mission of treating every client like family. His practice focuses on personal injury matters—ranging from motor vehicle accidents to medical malpractice and wrongful death—and estate planning. Drawing on his military background, Mickey operates with integrity, loyalty, and commitment, ensuring clients receive not only skilled legal representation but also compassion and personal attention during challenging times.
Mickey and his team are dedicated to guiding clients through every stage of their legal journey, offering direct access, honest evaluations, and a no-fee-unless-we-win policy. For Mickey, securing fair compensation is only part of the job—helping clients restore stability and peace of mind is the ultimate goal. His maxim reflects his philosophy: “When you join the Mickey Keenan, P.A. family, you are not alone.
