Attorney Biography
People involved in serious accidents experience loss and often don’t know what to do next. Tampa Personal Injury Attorney Mike Hancock has dedicated his career to handling the recovery process for his clients so that their lives can get back to normal.
Mike has excelled in personal injury litigation for over 30 years. Even though that’s earned him numerous professional honors, what’s most important to him is meeting directly with you and his commitment to giving you peace of mind.
After several years of handling claims for the insurance industry, Mike founded Hancock Injury Attorneys in 1996, with a clear understanding of the insurance industry and how to obtain the best results for his clients. Mike graduated from the University of Florida and South Texas College of Law. He is a second-generation Tampa native. Among other charitable organizations for which he volunteers, Mike serves on the Board of Directors of the North Tampa Bar Association and has been elected as President for the past two years. The firm serves clients in Tampa, as well as all counties in West and Central Florida, and throughout Florida.
During his first eight years of practice, Mike was an attorney at two large insurance defense law firms representing, defending, and completing many jury trials for insurance companies including Allstate, State Farm, Geico, the Travelers, and several Fortune 500 companies in personal injury and wrongful death cases. During these eight years, not only was Mike trained by some of the best attorneys in the country, he was made privy to the insider secrets and inner workings of how insurance companies defend and evaluate personal injury claims. He was also taught the insurance company tactics used over and over again to minimize the amount paid or to completely avoid paying legitimate personal injury claims made by otherwise responsible and kind people from our community.
In 1996, after representing insurance companies for eight years and having gained insider knowledge of the insurance industry, Mike left a successful insurance defense firm and founded Hancock Injury Attorneys. Using his knowledge of insider secrets of the insurance industry, he has been devoted exclusively to representing the injured in personal injury and wrongful death cases.

Client Testimonials & Reviews
“All I can say is what a cool guy!” Last year I had a car insurance claim that I thought was over and done with. Last month I got a letter from my insurance company that I didn’t understand. I took the letter to Mike Hancock, who wrote a letter on my behalf to my insurance company requesting them to make sure that the matter settled within my policy limits. I would have had no idea how to do this on my own or to even know what should have been done. Thank you Mike for helping to ease my mind.
